I wanted to discuss with you a topic that is very important to me personally, and for the GameBattles Staff as a whole. I'm sure either you or a teammate has been affected by this as well. Let's talk about Host booting.

For those that are unfamiliar with host booting, let me break it down for you. Host booting is the action of kicking an individual computer or device (xbox) off the internet by overwhelming their internet connection with a lot of data. This is also known as IP flooding. It has been long known that this type of attack is commonplace on GameBattles, with many users feeling the effects.

I'm here to tell you tonight that, effective immediately, GameBattles will SEVERELY cut down the frequency with which host booting occurs during matches. Let me explain why:

• We will ban and remove any users determined by our staff to be host booting any other player during a GB Match you will be removed from the site permanently.
• We will ban and remove any user associated with those caught host booting permanently.
• We will reset all ranks and stats of any player caught host booting or being associated with a host booter.
• We will post the usernames and gamertags of users caught host booting for the public to see
• The act of host booting is illegal and GameBattles will cooperate with law enforcement, pursuant to our Privacy Policy.

A logical question to this is, how are we going to catch the host booters? It's simple:

• For the past several months (6) to be exact, we have been tracking complaints of host booting during GameBattles matches. These complaints come from various sources on GameBattles. All of this data has been aggregated, and we now know exactly who we need to focus on.
• We need your help, too! If you experience host booting in a match, please submit a ticket to the category of "Match: Opponent Lagged me Out." You MUST include video evidence of the host booting. (Do not just submit a ticket regarding Match: Opponent Lagged me Out without proof or you yourself will be removed from the site.
• Any verifiable video evidence WILL result in an immediate ban for all players involved in host booting as well as additional penalties listed above

So, let's recap:

- If you host boot, you will be banned permanently and lose all of your stats on GameBattles.
- If you associate yourself with host booters, you will be banned permanently and lose all of your stats on GameBattles

If I was not already very clear: Host booting will stop, and GameBattles Staff will continue to take whatever steps necessary to see that it does.

An initial round of bans will begin shortly, with more to come. The public list of these users have started to be posted, please come back and see who has been cheating you.
