This is not about separation, that was an attack on religion itself any idiot can see that.

I think that if we removed under God then we're truly ****ed since the very year we removed prayer in schools or even allowed to pray in schools grades started to drop and have been dropping ever since. The only reason they have spiked in the last couple of years is because we lowered the requirements.

Lol there's no correlation between ending prayer in schools and American education getting worse. Our education dropped on purpose all you have to do is open a book to find this out.

I telling someone about that the other day too. As we remove God out of the equation we as a nation start to lose his blessings.

This is true however. Bush's no child left behind focused all the attention on getting the really ****ing dumb kids up to level by lowering standards, and left everyone else behind.

People may say there is no connection between prayer in schools and education but I definitely disagree, history shows this.

I'm not looking for a wtf efight, just responding to the thread how I see it, if you don't agree that's fine just move the **** on and stop trying to argue with me.

I'm a christian, but I also believe in separation of church and state. I, nor the school should be forcing religion upon anyone, I can pursue it alone, after hours.

Turkey-Glue is just really nice
It shouldn't be in there, but we have way bigger issues than this to deal with.

The idea of removing prayer from school effecting grades is mind boggling. Personally, I think grades started to suffer because they canceled Married with Children.

Are you talking about NCLB or a bullshit conspiracy theory?

Man I love being able to say bullshit instead of BS now.

Yes, the Pledge of Allegiance shouldn't have had any mention of God in it, although I believe "one nation under God" means more along the lines of "We are the chosen ones" rather than "We all believe in God." I don't believe in faculty led prayers in school but I do agree with having a silent time for prayer/reflection if anyone chooses to.

There is a correlation. The longer the kids spent chanting meaningless rhetoric the longer they are distracted from learning.

I don't think prayer had anything to do with it. I went to a Catholic School from grade 2-8 and I'll admit that the education I received there was multitudes better than what I received from my public high school, but prayer had nothing to do with it. I attribute it to the small classroom sizes, having the same teacher and just the difference in teaching styles. My religion class everyday or the once a month church visits didn't really do anything for my social studies skills.

Anyway, if you have a problem with saying "Under God" just don't say it. It's really that easy.

Doesn't society use "God" as a general term? I mean all religions have a "God". Maybe i'm missing the context but I don't get it.
