Before you view this thread and feel like this information is not important as you are a GB "All Star" and know ALL the rules, just note that policies and procedures do change, and this is why we post this information... to help you.
**This section has been added for brand new users, if you already know how to play a match continue on to the next yellow section!*** How To Play A Match On GameBattles.com To play a match. I highly suggest checking out the rules page of the game you are trying to play on as you need to make sure you know the rules of the game from top to bottom! Secondly, at this point and time I am assuming that you have already created a team and have enough eligible players to play in the ladder you are wanting to play on. If this is not the case and you don't know how to create a team Click Here or invite players Click Here. Now we are ready to get a match going. From your team page you have a few different ways of getting a match. The simplest way to do so is by using the match finder. On your team page you will have a button that says "Find a Match" (You can ctrl+f to use the find feature if you can't find it on your page). Now depending on what you did from above. You will either have a match accepted, or one in waiting to be accepted. So we will just continue on from the point that the match was accepted. When a match is accepted it will show up on your team page in the Upcoming and Recent matches window of your team. You will notice a magnifying glass next to each match you have played or are scheduled to play. When you click this magnifying glass it will bring up the appropriate challenge and settings for you to play on! Now we are at the juicy part. Playing the match! [QUOTE]In order to play a match you will need to pay attention to the hosting rules of the game that you are playing. Some games will require the higher seeded team to host, some will be the lower, it will depend on the game that you are playing on. Now we are at the juicy part. Playing the match! At this point you are set to go and ready to play! You will need to wait for both teams to say they are ready to play the match before starting! And like I said, it is very important to read the rules of the game before even going into getting a match. How to Report a Match Correctly Again, if you report a match as a win that you did not win or a match that did not finish completely, this is not allowed and could be considered Disputing On Purpose. This is not tolerated as stated in our Dispute Policy. Important Info: You should know that Admins can always, always reverse a match and give your team the win if needed. If you are able to provide proper proof, an Admin will certainly reverse the outcome of the match to give you the win. There is one last piece of advice that I’d like to offer you. When creating a new ticket, it is absolutely mandatory and necessary that you read the description of the category and make sure you submit your ticket to the appropriate category. Failure to submit your ticket to the appropriate category will result in your ticket being closed and you not receiving the fastest possible response. What this mean is, instead of using Live Support to get a referee in your match, you can now report your match status to one of the features listed below to get help: ![]()
All of these issues need to be current. We cannot help you with yesterday's match or a match over 1hr and 30mins. With this new feature implemented, this is an easier and simpler way to get help for your match. After reporting your match status, you should get a message within 1-45 mins of reporting your match status. However, we are not always on at all times. If you do not get a message within 45 minutes please submit your ticket with proof. We would love to help every single one of you but there just isn't enough of us. Live support will not be as active as it used to be but it will still be on at times for questions and 3 dispute issues. We hope this feature gives you a smoother way to contact us if you are in need of help. For more information about the new match status feature, please click here. Details about repoting a match correctly Again, if you report a match as a win that you did not win or a match that did not finish completely, this is not allowed and could be considered Disputing On Purpose. Team Disbands
If you are the leader of your team and you use the Team Disband button, you can consider your team disbanded. The system creates a ticket that will be looked at and your team disbanded as soon as its handled. You can't submit a ticket to cancel that, as all tickets are looked at in the order received. We can't bring back disbanded teams (except in cases where there was a mistake doing a ban.) How do I check the status of my ticket, or add information to it? To check the status of your ticket, look for the menu bar at the top of the site where you see Home, My GB, and then the links for the different platforms on GB. When you hover your mouse over the "My GB" tab, it will bring a drop down menu for you that will have a few links. Click on the "My Support Tickets" button and it will take you to a page that shows all of the support tickets you have submitted. Find the ticket you wish to check the status of, and click the magnifying glass to the right of it. You can view the current status and any responses that were made. If you wish to add something to your ticket (such as a link to proof), you can add that here and then click "Create New Ticket Post". Be warned that you can only add posts to an open ticket (of course). I have a complaint about a staff member!! Referees - If during a match you feel that a referee made a wrong call or was biased towards your opponent, you MUST obey the referee and follow his/her instructions and requests. Staff abuse will NOT be tolerated. Failing to obey a referee in a match can result in your team getting locked or possibly banned. The best way to report an issue like this is to submit a ticket with the category "Arena: Staff Report" after the match. These tickets get assigned to the Head Admin so he can personally review them and make sure the correct call was made. Admins – If your team received the loss for a match that you feel your team won, or you feel that an admin did a poor job handling an issue, don’t feel like there is nothing you can do. Submit a new ticket with the category Arena: Staff Report and explain exactly what happened. Write on the top of your ticket: ***ASSIGN TO HEAD ADMIN***. Again, these tickets get to the Head Admin so he can personally review them and make sure the correct call was made. Note: I want to assure everyone that these issues are taken very seriously. If any staff member is found to be biased towards one team, or is helping a team on the ladder, they will be immediately removed from staff. Proof Many users are confused about what “valid” proof is. The following is what is written in the rules regarding proof. 1. You need to show proof of winning each map/game in a match to be given the win for it. All proof must be clearly visible and show the in-game full scoreboard during the completion of that map/game. The proof must all clearly show both teams players to be considered valid. 2. We recommend all video proof should be uploaded to the GB Game Room. Picture proof can be uploaded to your GB profile. The URL link to the individual pictures/proof must be placed in a ticket. 3. For all glitching and cheating claims, the burden of proof is on the accuser. To submit a glitching or cheating claim, you must submit a ticket and include the URL link containing valid proof. 4. All conversations between users are not considered proof. This includes AIMs, emails, PMs, etc. Here are some examples of what valid proof looks like: ![]() ![]() The following video shows claymores, grenade launchers, C4 and 3x frags being used. This video is valid proof. Notice the scoreboard. http://gameroom.gamebattles.com/view/zQbeBUZGGh4.html Here are some examples of invalid proof and explanations why: ![]() Reason: The picture is not a full screen shot and doesn't show the scores of the individual players. ![]() Reason: The picture is way too small for us to be able to see anything. ![]() Reason: This is not valid proof of grenade launchers being used. There needs to be a scoreboard. ![]() Reason: This does not show any of the players names. ![]() Reason: Pictures of both teams in the lobby are not valid. ![]() Reason: This is not valid proof of a spectator because we cannot see how long the player stayed in the game. ![]() Reason: There is no one on the other team. ![]() Reason: This picture does not show the completed score. You can never assume who is going to win. Last edited by Auxilio_ab_alto; 6 Apr 2010 at 2:12 AM EDT. |

How to improve your chances of getting a referee Here are some ways to help yourself get a staff member for a in-game issue. If you report the scores the referee cannot help you. By reporting your telling us that the game has finished, so we cannot then help you. No show A referee can only help for a no show between 15 - 30 mins from the scheduled start time for a match. Begin to contact a referee through live support. Don't report the scores. If you can't get a referee between 15 - 30 mins of your scheduled match, then you need to click "The Match Did not Finish" button. It will then ask you to select a option, you need to select "The Opponent didn't show" option. Doing this, will automatically create a ticket for you so the admins can review it. In that ticket, you can also add any proof you may have of your opponents not showing. If you fail to follow the instructions I just listed, then there is a possibly that you may not get the win for the match. Left Mid Match Scenario 1: Your opponent left during the middle of the match. If your opponent leaves before the match has completed, you need to get a referee to prove the this. Contact live support and let the referee know that your opponent left mid match and tell the referee which map your opponent left on. The referee will then contact your opponents and try to get a response from them. The referee will only wait 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes is up, the referee will instruct you to click "The Match Did Not Finish" button, then select the"Opponent dropped mid match" option. As always, in the ticket you submitted added any proof of the situation you may have. Scenario 2: You are called into the lobby because the other team claimed you left mid match. If you are contacted by a referee stating your opponent stated that you left during the middle of the match, then I strongly recommend follow the referee's instructions.
Ringer Issue Always check the roster before playing any team. If you check the roster first and your opponents have an ineligible player in the game, let them know that they need to swap the player out for someone that is eligible, or they can play one man down (except for TDM). If they fail to do so then begin to contact a referee. When on Live support, give as much detail as possible. Be sure to include the gamertag which is invalid on that roster and explain to the referee what the issue is in the lobby. So for example, you realize a ringer is playing in your match on the other team, as soon as you spot it you must submit your ticket. Make sure you get proof if the ringer. Then contact a referee as this is the best moment to show someone is using a ringer, if the ref comes in and see's the player playing, the opposing team will forfeit the maps they played on. If you cant contact a referee, the play the map out, ask the player to leave and continue the match. Always play the match out if you can then report the scores correctly at the end of the match as per the rules. Once the match is completed you can upload your proof of him playing and submit it in a new post in your ticket. Connection issues If you and your opponents cannot connect to each other the match must be canceled. You can not have a third party host the match. This will render any proof taken invalid. You need to be aware for people who claim they cannot connect to you and when you ask them to invite you, they close the lobby so the invite they sent you disappears. That is not being able to connect and you must try to contact a referee. On live support state that, your opponent claims he cannot connect to you and that when you go to accept a game invite from him he closes the lobby so the invite disappears. The referee will then attempt to deal with the issue and get both teams in a lobby. If both players can't connect then the match will be canceled. Settings Issue If a referee enters a lobby for a settings issue, it is their duty to try and have the match played. One of the goals on Gamebattles is that we want matches to be played, and we do not want to be giving wins based on technicalities. If no ref is called in follow the rules page and report the scores correctly, then submit your ticket with your proof. The following situations apply for when a referee is in the lobby: Situation 1. Hosting team has the rules wrong and the map is played out without anyone complaining from the other team. Scores will stand. Situation 2. Hosting team has the rules wrong and is losing and ended the game. This is a forfeit for the HOSTING TEAM. Situation 3. Hosting team has the rules wrong and the other team asks for the match to be ended. Map will be replayed. Please remember, at Gamebattles we want matches to be played and we do not want to be giving wins based on technicalities. So if you see a referee use any of these calls please be aware that they are not to go by the rules you see on the staff page, they have their own handbook they follow. Lag Issues If a team is complaining that the hosts connection is not suitable, and can't agree on what happened during the lag test, or who should host, the best thing to do is contact a referee. Go to live support and request a referee for your lag issues. The referee will come into the lobby and be able to help find a suitable host. A suitable host is defined as a host that keeps everyone on 3 bars or more. But on the other hand it is not hard to spot when users try to trick people by lagging their own connection. This is easily spotted. So before you contact a referee about a bad host that is putting everyone on a least 3 bars, think logically. The referee is going to come in and see the host is putting everyone on 3 bars and make us play on it anyway, you are just wasting the referee's time. Staff Abuse When a referee is in a lobby, never give the referee abuse. If you start giving the referee abuse for any reason, then the referee will more than likely submit a staff abuse ticket. If you feel the referee made the wrong call, submit a ticket with your case and proof to go along side it. The user(s) that caused the staff abuse and the leader of the team will more than likely be banned.

Guide To Submitting Tickets!!
One of the most frustrating things for users are teams that dispute, and dispute on purpose for that matter. This guide is built to help you get your dispute resolved as soon as possible! So how do I get my dispute resolved faster? The first step of this is making sure that your ticket has three things.
Number 1. We are going to go into much more detail about submitting your ticket to the correct Arena and Category to make sure you ticket is not closed without being helped. In order to submit your ticket to the correct arena we need to ask ourselves a common question. And that is do I have common sense? If you said yes, you will do this part just fine and have zero problems in doing so. If you answered no, I'm sorry but I don't know what to tell you. The correct arena is simply the arena in which you need help on. For example, if you are playing on the MW2 arena for Xbox 360, you would just simply select Modern Warfare 2. The only time that you do not need to select a game arena is when you have forum issues. In this case you need to select Forums and Moderators and this will get your ticket to the forum managers. Selecting the Correct Category Alright guys and gals this is where we get down to business. I have put these into categories and different posts to make sure that you are finding exactly what you are looking for to answer your ticket problems. For Match and Dispute issues:
Account Problems
If you didn't find your question above. Please view The Ultimate Guide of Help Number 2. If you are unclear of what Valid proof is I suggest you check out the Ultimate Guide of Help!

Forums-Information and Guide Introduction The forums are a fun place for the community to relax after a hard day of playing matches, and also a place to engage in interesting discussions with others. On our MW2 forums, we have a great deal of depth. As one of the most active forums, it's our decision to allow the community to post threads that do not relate to Modern Warfare 2, and engage in more free style discussions. However, we do have some rules that we like you to follow in order to continue keeping it as such a friendly environment. We also have some information that has been gathered to make you make the most of your posting experience. Rules Ah yes, the rules. The rules are the glue that hold our forums together. They lay down a guideline for keeping the discussion clean and uncluttered. To access the rules, look for the gray menu bar at the top of the screen that starts with Home, My GB, and then the different platforms. If you look all the way to the right, you will see Forums. Hover over this, and then if you scroll down you will see one that says "Forum Rules". Click that. Make sure you check over these. You need to know where to find the rules, but just in case you want to check them right now, click here. Infraction System On GB, we use an infraction system as a warning whenever you break the rules. You can read the specifics on the rules page, but please note that infractions are warnings. Nothing bad will happen until you accumulate a certain amount of infractions. These infractions are administered by moderators. Forum Moderator Forum moderators patrol the forums and engage in discussion with everyone. However, when they see something break the rules, they are obliged to issue an infraction (or in minor cases, they may just give a PM warning). This is their job. Trust me, they don't like being the big, mean, infraction-issuing machine. But someone has to keep the forums clean. Note that there are two types of moderators: regular, and combo. Regular moderators have as their only duty the job to moderate the forums. Combo moderators may also hold another position on the website such as Administrator or Human Resources. Reporting a Post If you see a post that violates the forum rules, you can report the post. If you look below the users avatar (usually on the left, but it may be elsewhere depending on your settings) you should see a small red button that looks like this: ![]() Click this button, and give a brief description of the problem, and then click "Send Report". A ticket will be issued, and as soon as a moderator sees it, it will be handled. You can check the status of this ticket just like any other ticket. If You Are Infracted Please do not take it personally, moderators are only doing their jobs. You can feel free to request more information from the moderator that issued the infraction. However, please keep your tone civil as staff abuse is NOT tolerated. If you feel that you are being harassed or mistreated, you may use Forum Live Support, or if that is unavailable, submit a ticket to the appropriate category. Forum Live Support If you would like to speak to a Forum Manager (moderator's bosses), you can use Forum Live Support. To access it, look at the Forums menu on the gray menu bar at the top of your screen. Then go down to Forum Staff. Look in the top right hand corner of the screen on that page, and click the button that looks like: ![]() If no forum manager is available, you can submit a ticket to the forums/moderator's arena. Avatars Avatars are the little graphical images that appear below a person's name on the forums. To change your avatar, you can go to the Forums menu in the gray menu bar at the top of your screen, and then go down to "Edit Avatar". There, you will find a number of pre made avatars available for you use. Alternately, you may upload one for your use. Note that the maximum size of an avatar is 80x80 pixels, or 29.3KB, whichever is smaller. Also note that the staff avatar is only allowed to be used by staff members. Signatures Signatures are added to the bottom of your posts whenever you post. You can make your signature include whatever text and images you want (within the forum rules). However, make sure your image fits within our size restrictions, found on the forum rules page. To edit your signature, go to the Forums menu on the gray menu bar at the top of the screen. From there, go down to "Edit Signature". Note that when you update your signature, all previous posts you made will have the signature updated in them as well. Some people use their signature to express their interests, skills, or graphical talent, while others contain links to threads that they are proud of. And some contain favorite quotes. Reputation For more in-depth information, I recommend visiting the Understanding Reputation thread. Reputation is our system that is here to help you judge at a glance how someone is perceived by the community. These are the little green/red bars below someones avatar. The more green bars, the greater that person's reputation. The more red, the worse. There's also a white "neutral" reputation. We highly encourage you to be constantly giving our reputation, both positive and negative as you see fit. However, asking for people to give you reputation is not allowed and can result in an infraction. To give someone reputation, look below their avatar for the button that looks like this: ![]() Click that. It will pop up a menu asking you whether you approve or disapprove of the post, and there's a space to leave a small comment that only the poster can see. Tip-if you're having trouble getting the rep menu to come up, you can right click their button and then select "Open in New Tab/Window". Thread Subscriptions Thread Ratings A feature we don't see used very often, we'd like to see it become more popular. When viewing a thread, there is a menu at the top right. It reads Thread Tools, Search this Thread, Rate Thread, Display Modes. Select "Rate Thread" and then give the thread a rating from one to five. Five is the best, one is the worst. This provides some feedback to the the poster on what people think of their thread, as well as allowing others to quickly find an interesting thread. User CP To access your User Preferences/User CP, go to the Forums menu on the gray menu bar, and then go down to where it says "User Preferences/User CP" and click on that. There you will see any infractions you have, as well as links on the left for options, subscriptions, avatar and signature, etc. BB Code/ vB Code The forums have been designed to parse a certain type of code that allows you to do some interesting things with your posts. You can add a Youtube video to your post, change the color of your font, post a link, and many more things using this code. To see all the options, please visit this link. Post Count Everyone on the forums has a post count, displayed below their avatar, that tells how many posts they have made in our forums. Posts made in the Recruiting section of the forums do not count toward this number. Also, some people ask why their post count goes down. If you post in a thread, and then that thread or post gets removed, that post will no longer count towards your numbers. Last edited by Auxilio_ab_alto; 6 Apr 2010 at 9:23 PM EDT. |

FAQ All questions that the users ask will go here, and be answered here. You can't, you'll have to wait for it to get unlocked and then disband it. It basically means that your opponent dropped his connection, pulled the plug or dash boarded it you could call it. If it happens, then your opponent would forfeit that map.
