Hey peoples. I am new to this whole MLG thing and really want to play some MK7 with people but it is confusing to me. Can anyone explain how the ladders, battles, etc. work to a complete noob like me? I'm not a noob to MK but I am to this site and its setup O_o

So I want to come here, join up, play in the ladders and get on the leaderboards and stuff. I made an account but now what? How do I get everything settled in and how do I start matches to play with you guys? I know it seems kinda dead (I read the other topics) but I wanna get started now :)

Also, it seems like everyone just makes a "team" for themselves so they can play O_o Is this normal? I want to join or start a team but I don't want it to be just me o_o;

I guess I should mention I am new to online community and competitive gaming in general. I was directed here through GFAQs. I've always been into local competition, but that was a lot easier. You learned about a tournament, went to it, and they just told you what to do and then you played against people lol. Or I just held personal tournaments and stuff myself with friends.

This is all new to me o____o;

Each team on the Mario Kart ladders consists of one person. To join the ladder, click the "DS" tab on the top of the page and scroll down until you see Mario Kart 7. On that screen you should scroll down util you see "create a team". From there you just enter your team name, mii name, tag, and 3DS and community friendcodes and then you have enrolled in the ladder. I think you need to wait 1 hour after you enrolled before you start playing matches.
