GameBattles Online Tournaments are a great way to have fun and put your gaming skills to the test. If you spend countless hours each week playing online, there's no better way to make your time worthwhile than throwing your hat in the ring to win some cash. Just like last week we'll be going over our tournament winners from last week as well as previewing some all new tournaments. We have plenty in store for Modern Warfare 2 players on both the Xbox 360 and PS3, so be sure to look over the upcoming tournaments to find the competition for you.
Before we get to last week's winners and our all new tournaments, we'd like to highlight some special events set to take place in the near future. As noted last week, on Saturday, March 20th, GameBattles will be hosting its
GB Live Tournament in which tournament play will be broadcast over our home page for the entire world to see. This will be a great chance for Modern Warfare 2 players not only to get their names out there, but to have a load of fun in a serious competitive atmosphere. Our
Modern Warfare 2 2v2 Sunday Pro-Am will also be a great opportunity for aspiring players. In this tourney, amateur players will team up with cash winners, so don't miss out on the excitement.
We'd also like to remind you that two massive Modern Warfare 2 Free For All events are rapidly approaching. Both the
Amateur Open Free For Alland the
Free For All Classic remain open to registration and the payouts are huge, so be sure to check them out. For all you Call of Duty 4 veterans with a nostalgic longing for CoD4 competition, our
2v2 MLG Throwback is still taking players.

Upcoming Tournaments PS3 Modern Warfare 2 - 2v2 High Stakes MLG Variant With up to $400 up for grabs in a single elimination bracket, the stakes couldn't be higher in this MLG oriented tournament. Playstation 3 duos will have their shot this Saturday to prove that they're the best tandem on PSN in this single elimination, Best of 3 bracket consisting of the most skilled-based gametypes possible. Be sure to register by Friday if you don't want to miss out on the action.
X360 Modern Warfare 2 – 2v2 Amateur Only High Rise Team Deathmatch
Just like last week, all High Rise, all Team Deathmatch. The only difference is that this time bracket play will be reserved for amateur players only. This single elimination tournament will consist of Best of 3 rounds, so if you think you have High Rise down this is definitely your chance to win some cash. Play begins Saturday and is open to anyone that has not won a cash prize from MLG/GB in 2008, 2009, or 2010.
X360 Modern Warfare 2 – 2v2 MLG SnD Best of 5 Bash With MLG variant gametypes and Best of 5 rounds, the best team is sure to come out on top in this single elimination tourney. As noted, play will consist only of MLG rules and settings spanning across five maps of Search and Destroy. $200 will be up for grabs, so be sure to register before Saturday. If you've got the mettle and shot of a great SnD player you won't want to miss this!
X360 Modern Warfare 2 – 2v2 MLG Variant ARs on Terminal If you've got a friend and Assault Rifles are your weapon of choice, this is the tournament for you. Come Saturday you'll have the chance to battle it out with MLG gametypes in everybody's favorite airport. This Best of 3, single elimination bracket will be comprised of CTF, SnD, and Domination game modes, so if you think you know the ins and outs of Terminal, be sure to sign up. Registration ends and play begins Saturday!
X360 Modern Warfare 2 1v1 ARs on Scrapyard Are Assault Rifles your weapon of choice but you don't have a friend? No worries, we've got you covered. This Sunday you can duke it out on Scrapyard by yourself with just your intuitions and an AR in hand. Bracket play is single elimination, and rounds will be Best of 3. Make sure to register this week for a chance to show off your shot and win a hundred bucks!
