Players in a Match & Dispute Tracking

GameBattles has made a few upgrades to the user profiling system, including the recent addition of a “Who’s Playing in the Match” feature and some major changes to our current dispute tracking system. Both upgrades will help improve our ability to create a portfolio of our users on their respective profile pages by providing more specific player statistics. In case you weren’t yet aware of the “Who’s Playing in the Match” screen, here’s how it works:

When a Leader or Captain posts or accepts a match, they will be shown a list of their team’s roster and asked to select which members will participate. This helps us track individual player's performances by having a record of what matches they actually played in as opposed to just the overall record of their team. This highlights the players who regularly participate and helps to paint a better picture of how good of a player he/she is. For example, if a team has earned 100 wins, it’s not really fair to credit a member of that team with all 100 wins if he only played in, say, 20 of them. Now, each member’s record is accurately tracked and displayed on his/her profile page under his/her MLG Rank. In the near future, there will be an option for users to disable this feature on their page if they wish to keep their overall record private.

Today, we’ve launched some BIG changes to the way match disputes are handled. Disputes will now be tracked and associated with users that played in a disputed match. When a match is disputed, all members of each team who participated in the match will receive a dispute, which will be added to their individual dispute record. (Users who did not play in the match will not be given a dispute.) When one team is awarded the win, their members’ disputes will be removed and will not count against them. The users of the team given the loss will keep their disputes, thereby increasing their “User Dispute Percentage (%)”, which will be displayed on the team roster.

The User Dispute Percentage is the percentage of matches a user has played in that resulted in a dispute. It is the disputes they have been involved in divided by the total number of matches they have played in. (Again, only matches and disputes a player was involved in will be taken into account.) The “Team Dispute Percentage (%)” is an average of every member on the team’s User Dispute Percentage. The Team Dispute Percentage is displayed on the team’s profile page and when they post on the Match Finder. This gives other teams an estimate of how often the posted team disputes a match. This could help our fair, legit players from an encounter with a shady team.

All of these features are live now!
