Welcome to this week's Super Smash Bros. Brawl update!

Welcome to this week's Super Smash Bros. Brawl update! The standings look a little different from last week, and it's time to get you up to speed. The Summer 2009 Season ends in a little over a week, and 64 teams will qualify for a double elimination, post season playoff tournament. Thanks to BIC and their Comfort 3 Advance Shavers, there will be $5,000 in prizes for the winners. Now, here's a quick recap on the current standings!

Triple R is still in first place and has a lead of about 200 XP on his nearest competitor. Triple R has accumulated 172 wins, and lost just 34 times. He's also won 11 straight games. Meanwhile, Don't Get Salty has maintained his hold on second place as well. He has won 106 games, lost only 10 times, and is also on an impressive winning streak, of 10 games. Likang2 is now in third place with 74 wins and just 3 losses, and Pelca now sits in 4th place with a record of 117-19. Pelca has won 9 games in a row and has a reasonable shot at moving up to third, or possibly even higher, if he can string some more wins together. Cruxis currently holds the #5 spot. He has won 71 games and lost only 7 times this season.

Boku, the #15th ranked player, has the most wins on the ladder with 250. That's roughly 80 more than anyone else has. Boku has proven that while he has lost some matches, you can't ignore him -- he's beaten his fair share of tough competition. Super Smash Bros. Brawl Legend Jumpman is looking to capture another championship this year, going 62-0 throughout the regular season so far. Surely he is still considered a favorite. His 62 wins is also the longest active winning streak on the ladder.

Thanks to BIC's generous sponsorship of this season, the playoffs are sure to be intense! Double-elimination, $5,000 in prizes, and a host of SSBB elites ready to run the bracket -- how could it get any better? Be sure to check back in a few weeks, when we'll get you up to date on the end of season standings and the first few rounds of the playoffs!
