  1. Players who move their Character outside of the normal boundaries of a Map may Forfeit the Game.  Moving outside of the normal boundaries of a Map includes but is not limited to part of the Character’s body passing through what should be a non-permeable surface or object, and moving into any area from which your Character registers shots on an opponent who is not able to register shots on your Character.

  2. Players may only use the default version of each weapon. Use of any weapon variant that has been Statistically rebalanced or any other restricted item is subject to the restricted items penalties listed in the Penalties section of this rules page.

  3. If a Player finds that their Character hasn’t respawned after the proper amount of time they should notify a Tournament Official immediately.  If the Tournament Official is able to confirm that this has occurred, they will determine whether the Round/Game should be restarted, the Game win should be awarded to a Team, or the conditions under which the Round/Game should be resumed.

  4. If a Player finds that they are unable to Aim Down Sights (ADS) properly, they should notify a Tournament Official immediately.  If the Tournament Official is able to confirm that this has occurred, they will determine whether the Round/Game should be restarted, the Game win should be awarded to a Team, or the conditions under which the Round/Game should be resumed.

  5. If a Player finds that their Character isn’t properly arming or disarming the bomb, they should notify a Tournament Official immediately.  If the Tournament Official is able to confirm that this has occurred, they will determine whether or not the affected Round will be restarted and, if it is decided that the Round will be restarted, which Players will compete in the restarted Round.  If it can be determined that a Player was eliminated from the affected Round prior to this occurring or the Tournament Official perceives a Player’s post-glitch elimination to have been inevitable, that Player will not compete in the restarted Round.  Rounds won’t be restarted when this issue occurs if Players fail to notify a Tournament Official immediately.  If a Team claims that this occurred when it did not, they will Forfeit the Game.

  6. If a Player finds that the Uplink Satellite hasn’t reset after 15 seconds of being unreachable, they should notify a Tournament Official immediately.  If the Tournament Official is able to confirm that this occurred, they will determine whether the Round/Game should be restarted, the Game win should be awarded to a Team, or the conditions under which the Round/Game should be resumed.

  7. Unless otherwise mentioned, Players should play through instances of unusual satellite behavior.

  8. After a Private Match has been created, only Players on the two Teams and MLG Staff members may be invited/join.  If a Player who is not a registered member of one of the Teams (ineligible player) joins a Game, the Game must be ended.  If a Player is found to have invited an ineligible Player to a Game, they will Forfeit the Game.

  9. If a Player disconnects from a Game during the first 30 seconds or before the first kill, the Game must be restarted.  If a Player disconnects from a Game after the first 30 seconds or after the first kill, the Game must continue and the Player who disconnected may rejoin the Game.  If all Players on a Team disconnect without a Tournament Official’s permission, that Team will Forfeit the Game.

  10. If a player lags out after the first 30 seconds and/or after the first kill, the match must continue.
    • If a Player disconnects from a Search and Destroy Game, the current Round must be completed. After that Round has been completed, the Game must be ended.  It is the responsibility of the shorthanded Team to end or leave the Game before the start of the next Round.  Rounds that are played while a Team is shorthanded will be counted.  After a Game is ended, the shorthanded Team will be given 5 minutes for their teammate to return before they must start another Round shorthanded.  When the Game resumes, the score will be as it was when the Game was ended and the Teams will be set to resume the Game from proper sides.

  12. MLG reserves the right to broadcast any Match.  If MLG chooses to broadcast a Match, MLG Staff members must be allowed into each Game.  If MLG Staff members are unable to connect to a Host, all other hosting options may be explored until a suitable Host is found.

  13. Third party communication is allowed for this tournament. (i.e skype, TeamSpeak, Party Chat, etc.). However, players must be able to communicate with any staff member that joins the lobby.

Bracket Play

  1. All Round 1 Matches have the same default start time.  After Round 1, all Matches have a unique default start time that is dependent upon the time at which the Teams’ previous Round results were submitted.  Matches must be started by their default start time and played until completion.
    • After losing a match in a single elimination tournament, that team will be eliminated from the competition.
    • The Map(s) and Game Type(s) for this tournament will be generated for the players. Players are required to play the specific maps and game types listed for each match. Verbal agreements to play different maps and/or game types will not be honored by support staff.
    • Matches may not be rescheduled except for finals. Rescheduling a finals match will be at the discretion of Online Tournament Staff

  2. All teams/players have a 15 minute grace period from the match scheduled time to show up and play their match. If a team does not show up by the end of this grace period, an OLT Support Specialist must verify the no show. Please contact a staff member via the Online Tournament Live Support. Once the staff member joins, extra time up to 10 minutes may be given to ensure the match is played.
    • Teams have 5 minutes between each map/game mode. If a team/player goes over this grace period, please follow the above steps for support.
    • For game modes that are not kill dependent, teams may only play shorthanded by one player. Any missing player may join the private match lobby at any time.

  3. No warm-up or practice Games are permitted once the first tournament match has begun. If a match is played before the scheduled time, it will not be considered a warm-up and will count as the official scores.

  4. Matches up until Quarterfinals will be a best of three(3) series. Quarterfinals through Finals will be a best of five(5) series.

Hosting

  1. All Host Choices must be made prior to the start of a Match.

  2. The team seeds are done in ascending order. Seed one is the highest seed. (Example: Bracket Seed ten (10) is a higher seed than twenty (20).

  3. In a best of 3 series, The higher seeded team will choose to host 1 or 2 games. The team with 1 host chooses which map they want to host first, the team with 2 hosts gets the remaining games.
    • Best of 3 series will use the following game mode rotation: Hardpoint - Uplink - Search and Destroy.

  4. In a best of 5 series, The higher seeded Team must choose to act as Team A or Team B.  Then the Teams must make Host choices in the following order: A, B, A, B, B.
    • Best of 5 series will use the following game mode rotation: Hardpoint - Search and Destroy - Uplink - Hardpoint - Search and Destroy

  5. The Team that doesn’t Host a Game must choose to play as Atlas or Sentinel for that Game.

  6. Hosting Players should create the Private Match.  As the hosting Team changes over the course of a Match, the new hosting Player should leave the Private Match and create a new one.  If, after the start of a Game, Host is transferred to a Player who wasn’t designated to be the Game’s Host, the Game must still be played.

  7. All players must agree that the Host is reasonable before the start of a Map.  If a reasonable Host cannot be found, Tournament Live Support MUST be used to request an OLT Support Specialist to help decide who will host the map. If an OLT Support Specialist is not available, the best Host should be used.
    • We highly suggest that a lag test be performed before the start of each map. If a lag test is not performed, it  will be implied that all players agree the host is acceptable to play on.

  8. If a player’s connection to the Host becomes unreasonable during a game, the Game must still be played.  After each Game, either Team may request that a new Host be tested, if the previous Host was unreasonable.

  3. Teams may delay a Match between Rounds/Games for up to five minutes.  Teams can request that a Tournament Official enforce this five minute time limit.  After five minutes of a Tournament Official enforced delay, if the delaying Team is not present, they will Forfeit the Match.

  4. If the Host incorrectly ends a Game, their Team may Forfeit the Game.

  5. If no Tournament Officials are available, you must immediately submit a Ticket along with your proof of the accusation. Glitching accusations must be supported by video proof.
