We have some great updates for you today, all of which make MLG Premium membership even more awesome than it was before. So let's get to it:

Premium Members & Roster Lock: Roster locks are a necessity for playoffs, but can sometimes be an inconvenience. That is why we are implementing a system that will give Premium members the ability to leave their roster locked teams WITHOUT overriding the roster lock itself. This will be available to all Premium members.

Premium Member Escalations: Escalation restrictions on Premium members are being removed... completely! Premium members now have the ability to escalate as many matches as they’d like for free—the way it should be. This is available right now!

Not a Premium member yet? Don't worry; your price was cut too—a full 50%. Escalations for non-Premium members are now just two (2) MLG Credits.

Premium Member Ratio: Prior to today, the Premium member ratio on our Team ladders was inconsistent. Some ladders supported a 1:2 ratio while others, a 1:3. As of tonight, all Team ladder ratios will be 1:3. That is, 3 non-premium members for every 1 premium member, instead of just 2. This ratio will be applied to all future arenas as well.

Monthly Option for Premium: Some of you have been looking for a way to try out Premium without having to commit to a full three month term. If this sounds like you, your opportunity is here. As of TODAY, you now have the ability to subscribe to MLG Premium for just $4.99/mo. The $12.99/3mo. option WILL REMAIN ACTIVE for all those more comfortable with that plan. This new $4.99/mo. plan will be an additional plan for those who just want to give it a shot or who are more comfortable paying on a monthly basis. Hey folks, My name is Justin and I am the Online Tournament Manager. As some of you may already know, I’ve only recently taken over this position. I have been on staff just over 4 years and a part of the Online Tournament Department for the last 2 years.

My goal for online tournaments is to give the community a wide verity of fun and exciting options while maintaining a high level of competition. In order to do this, I need your feedback. We have several ways you can do this. Each game we run tournaments on has a thread for suggestions. My staff and I check these threads very often, so be sure to post your suggestions in there. I also use Twitter as a way to get feedback and interact with the community @Tryitsniperz.

Premium Tournaments: At the launch of the GB Premium Membership back in 2011, we have promised to have at least 1 Premium Tournament each month. As our online tournament community has grown, we have increased the number of premium tournaments to 6 each month and are featured on Xbox 360 and PS3! For those of you who do not know what Premium Tournaments are, these tournaments are a perk of being a loyal Premium member of Gamebattles. These tournaments feature a 100% payout back to the winners of the tournament along with credits back to 1^st and 2^nd place. This provides premium members with multiple times each month to make some serious $$$.

To help alleviate some confusion about premium tournaments, these are not free entry tournaments, but they require fewer credits to enter than regular tournaments. As the name implies, all players must have an active GB Premium membership to join.
